Pixl8 headlining Memcom conference

  • 25/06/2019
Pixl8 have been closely involved in Memcom for many years. This year, the time was right to work together in a more structured and collaborative way as we became Headline Sponsor for this year’s conference.

We have discussed our ambitions for our organisations and for the sector and felt that we could draw on our respective and complementary skills.

With our combined focus and commitment to provide a range of products and services to membership organisations and associations, the future is looking bright.

Demystifying digital transformation

Pixl8 Group’s Chief Executive Alex Skinner delivered a keynote speech to the Strategy Stream at this year’s Memcom conference on the topic of demystifying digital transformation.

Drawing on nearly 20 years experience of delivering projects for membership organisations, Alex was able to illustrate his talk with meaningful examples and draw on themes he has observed.

The over-riding point was that for a digital solution to be transformative, it needs to demonstrably make a difference. The key discussion points were around ‘how’ and ‘why’.

Sharing insights from the cultural sector

Pixl8’s Marketing Strategist, Lucy Conlan has transformed the impact and fortunes of Southbank Centre, Barbican and Natural History Museum’s membership schemes, as well as clients such as CIPD and CharityComms. She was part of a panel discussion in the Membership Stream and was able to illustrate how professional membership schemes can be inspired by how arts and cultural schemes acquire, surprise and retain members.

Time to celebrate

We were thrilled to have been highly commended as Agency Team of the Year for our work with The Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed (IPSE).

"The judges appreciated the evidence of clear, concise and focused teamwork, demonstrated by effective customer feedback across all aspects of the work undertaken. At each stage this reinforced the value to the client. The succinct submission reflects the agency's approach to web design which is effective and uncluttered."

This award was very much a result of the combined knowledge and impact of agency and client teams working well together:

"It is always rewarding when a collaboration works well, but it is wonderful for it to be recognised by Memcom in this way.  It is a real endorsement of the work done between IPSE and Pixl8 and adds a great boost to our ongoing relationship."

Our highlights from the day

Alex Skinner, Chief Executive, Pixl8 Group

"We knew it would be different this year as we were Headline Sponsor, but I have to say, our expectations were exceeded. The range of different membership organisations and associations, the quality of the programme, and the chance to talk to delegates was fantastic. Thank you Memcom!"

Scott Cole, Head of Commercial, Pixl8 Group

"There’s nothing like having the time to talk to a wide range of people from the sector to really understand the common ambitions and issues as well as the more unusual. Many wanted to talk to explore how system integration can be delivered without the usual stress and expense. Others had concerns about demonstrating digital success and being cyber secure. It’s great to be able to offer solutions, to reassure and inspire."

Lucy Conlan, Marketing Strategist, Pixl8 Group

"Some days in your career have real standout and this was one of them. The range of topics covered and the warmth and vibrancy of the membership community shone out. Bring on Memcom 2020!"
