Celebrating Associations

Associations and membership organisations have provided millions of people across the UK and beyond with ‘added value’ in their professional and personal lives. They represent supplier organisations, individual members and provide services to the public.

We like to take stock of the impact and importance of these organisations. We’ve observed trends, ambitions and challenges from our clients who are drawn from the associations and membership sectors.

Here’s a few inspiring examples of how digital innovation can work to deliver winning membership benefits and business confidence:

Saving valuable resources for FIA

It is not only important but potentially life-saving for the Fire Industry Association to represent, guide and inspire the member organisations it represents.

Pixl8 drew on the potential of the FIA’s Microsoft Dynamics CRM database to deliver a wide range of online and in-person benefits to the 700 member companies. This involved working with them to integrate it with a new website built on Pixl8’s Preside platform. We delivered a wraparound membership experience which fast-tracked membership enquiries, integrated email and enabled the association’s working groups to manage their individual group activities online.

Keeping skills honed and up-to-date is key for this association who deliver on average 250 courses every year. We found ways to automate many processes to save valuable time and resource. Online event reservation means bookings are automatically recorded against the contacts in the association’s CRM.

Setting standards internationally - Online Dating Association

With online dating now an established service, it is really important for people to know that they can trust the dating platform to use. The Online Dating Association sets the standard for the industry globally and members join as the association shows their mark of quality.

Pixl8 has delivered a design refresh to their website which is the first place many online dating organisation as well as daters first learn about their offering. We guided them to show both professionalism and warmth can be conveyed in their website so that it spoke appropriately to the distinct groups.

We also took an evidence-based approach to see which areas of the website could be improved via analytics and our skilled consultants translated this to recommendations and then design solutions.

Scott Cole

It never ceases to amaze me that there is literally an association for everything! Small or large the backbone to all associations is their staff, members and volunteers passion for the subject matter, thirst for knowledge and the sense of belonging to a community of like minded people, often from all over the world. Comparatively, we play a small part in facilitating the connections and career development of those that will ultimately shape the future of a huge variety of professions. That’s pretty cool.

Associations have the opportunity to provide their members with a sense of belonging and community. Whether for their career ambitions or to fulfil personal interests, members can make meaningful connections with other like minded people. In turn this promotes collaboration, which results in faster learning through shared experiences and makes for a better society overall.
