Kew Gardens - Adopt a seed

The Millennium Seed Bank (MSB) is a project of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Over the past 10 years more than 3.5 billion seeds from nearly 30,000 species have been collected and stored.

The project

To support the MSB, the Kew Foundation needed a user friendly donation system to allow customers to adopt a seed or a species online.

Customers would have the ability to adopt for themselves or as a gift for others, and then have the ability to generate a branded adoption certificate.

The outcome

The online donation process was released just before Christmas and has already been a success. It’s super simple to adopt online for yourself, friends or family.
You can preview the certificate and Kew are really pleased with the ability to adopt multiple seeds or species within the same order, which has already proved verypopular.

Once the order is completed and paid for using the seamless secure payment integration, a gift email is sent to the recipient with a link to a high quality PDF ready to frame on the wall. The purchaser also gets a confirmation of the complete order for their records.

The team back at Kew HQ can export all the orders into a file ready to import the data into their internal systems so they can keep in touch in the future.
