Another new website sets sail

Earlier in 2011, the Nautical Institute selected Pixl8 to redesign and redevelop their existing website, which had run it’s course and was looking dated and tired.  Key ambitions for the site included improving the overall look and feel, as well as the general user interface, both for members on the front end and administrators editing the site in the back end. 

Pixl8 came to the aid of the Institute in the form of our ever popular WebConnect package, offering the majority of the needed functionality out of box.  Our creative website design team brought the site back to life visually, while our technical gurus made all required functionality a reality.

The Nautical Institute represents maritime professionals involved in the control of sea-going ships both in the UK and throughout the world. The Institute provides various services to enhance the professional standing and knowledge of members, who originate from almost every sector of the maritime industry.

The new website offers a whole host of member services, thanks to us integrating it with their e-target member database system. Using iframes, similarly to our previously completed project for the British Contact Lens Association, members are able to sign up, as well as update their details and renew online.  On top of all this there’s even a forum to allow members to discuss the topics that matter most to them, along with a shop allowing members and non-members alike to purchase a variety of handbooks and journals.
